When God Gives You the Vision, Don’t Let Fear Talk You Out of It
There comes a point when you have to ask yourself: Why would God give me the idea, put the desire on my heart, or answer my prayer just for me to be too scared to do something with it?
That’s where I am right now.
I have so many ideas and so many things I want to accomplish. I’m also still trying to figure out exactly what my calling is. For a long time, I thought I needed to have that completely figured out before I moved forward.
Maybe I don’t.
Everybody Won’t Understand
I’ve had plenty of naysayers. I’ve had people question what I’m doing, and sometimes I’ve allowed their opinions to make me question myself.
Am I doing too much? Should I just focus on one thing? Is this really for me?
The truth is, everybody isn’t going to understand what God placed on your heart because He didn’t give the vision to everybody. He gave it to you.
I’m learning to stop letting fake support, outside opinions, and other people’s limitations make me second-guess who I am.
Stop settling because it feels safe.
Stop shrinking yourself to make other people comfortable.
Stop waiting for validation from people who were never assigned to understand your journey.
Pray about it. Trust it. Take the leap.
My Faith Has Wavered
I can admit there have been times when my faith wasn’t as strong as I wanted it to be. I’ve questioned things. I’ve wondered why certain situations happened. I’ve prayed and still worried afterward.
Then I look at my son.
My son was born prematurely, and when I think about his journey, I’m reminded that there are things in my life I simply cannot explain without God.
He is one of my greatest reminders that God exists,
God hears me, and there is a divine calling and connection over my life.
I may not always understand it, but I believe it.
That reminder has changed something in me.
I’m not scared anymore.
That doesn’t mean I’ll never experience fear or doubt. It means I’m no longer allowing fear to make my decisions.
I trust Him.
Maybe This Is Part of My Calling
One thing I do know is that I love helping people feel confident.
Maybe it happens while you’re sitting in my chair. Maybe it happens through a conversation, something I write, wellness, beauty, business, or simply encouraging someone at the exact moment they need it.
I don’t know all the ways God plans to use me yet.
I’m finally okay with not knowing.
Whatever capacity God allows the interaction, I want people to walk away feeling more confident about who they are and more willing to become who they want to be.
That’s what You Define Beauty has always meant to me.
Beauty isn’t just what you see in the mirror. It’s confidence. It’s growth. It’s peace. It’s becoming. It’s having the courage to define your life on your own terms instead of living according to everyone else’s expectations.
You define beauty.
You define the terms.
You define who you want to become.
Pray about it. Trust God. Take the leap.
I’m still figuring out exactly where He’s taking me.
I’m just not scared to follow anymore.
