Don’t Let the Scale Decide Your Success

This month, the number on the scale didn’t really move much. A few years ago, that probably would’ve frustrated me. But this time? I’m actually okay with it.

I checked my body composition, and I gained muscle while losing body fat. I’ll take that as a win every single time.

That’s exactly why I always say the scale doesn’t tell the whole story. If your gym has an InBody scale, use it! It gives you a much better picture of what’s actually happening with your body than your bathroom scale ever will.

Don’t get me wrong—there’s nothing wrong with weighing yourself at home. I still do it. But those numbers can be discouraging if that’s the only thing you’re looking at.

Pay attention to how your clothes fit. Look at your progress pictures. Notice how your energy feels, how much stronger you’ve gotten, and how your confidence is growing. Those changes matter just as much—if not more—than a number on the scale.

So if you’re showing up, staying consistent, and making healthier choices, don’t quit just because the scale isn’t moving as fast as you’d like. Stay the course. Your body is changing, even if the number doesn’t show it yet.

Does your gym have an InBody scale? Have you ever compared those results to what your bathroom scale says? I’d love to hear your experience.
